TOSS Awards 2021
Good Afternoon and welcome to this the sixteenth but first al fresco awards. Well, a very minimal year of activity just Six sessions since last year’s presentation. Some awards were nevertheless put forward, and although saddened by the small scale, the Academy is proud to announce the presentation of several this year despite the unfavourable circumstances.
The Award for Outstanding Invisibility
Nominated, a Mr Phil Crawley, Kev and Sanna. The winner for outstanding absence, Phil.
Most Pathetic Turn
Zunee who automatically drove back the zombie horde in the bed chamber of the evil priest, impressively rolling a 1 on 1-12 for the number affected.
Least successful trap Detection
Varamir, who completely denied the existence of the concealed pit in the central secret corridor even when it was triggered and used to imprison the enemy magic user.
Most Forgiving of evil character
Zunee who struck up a very friendly relationship with the Ogre Zaphod, custodian of the zombie manufacturing centre. If facebook were to spontaneously appear you can bet these two would be firm friends.
All the party for tolerating Malakai the Brown
And the winner Zunee, who of course as a ranger should be especially careful about the company he keeps.
The ‘I’ll worry so much that those statues are going to animate that I will practically walk into ambush from the curtained alcoves’ award
The name of the award is a clue to the winner, of course it’s the lovely Bernice.
The ‘I had him really worried – he thought he’d killed me’ award
Malakai who missed instant death by 1% when struck by an evil monk with his open hand attack
Zunee, who continually has to be revived from near death experiences by the dwarf, who is becoming convinced that he is engineering these occurrences just to sample his diamondraught.
The Winner, a very fortunate Malakai the Brown.
Stupidest action
Always a hotly contested award and this year is no exception:
The whole party, for leaving Priscella imprisoned in the pit
Malakai for continually insisting on wearing the evil amulet
Fenton Quilip, for taking the dodgy knife after the skirmish on the road to Widow Twanky’s
The whole party for rescuing the wererat (admittedly they weren’t to know at that point).
And he winner is, Malakai.
Player of The Year 2021
A unanimous result this year for a number of impressive performances, the award goes to Sam.
Finally this year’s induction to TOS hall of fame; This year joining Sam and Jen a Player who has won player of the year more than any other, a man whose characters always add that special extra dimension, we remember fondly a Maverick starship captain, a pious cleric, an amazing magic user and most recently a ranger/cleric of note, the winner and third Hall of Famer, Toby.
